Hallam’s OEM customers sell world class products into markets as diverse as oil exploration, deep mining and construction to livestock management, horticulture and domestic electrical goods. Hallam has been involved in an array of concept development projects spanning diverse areas and has vast experience in anticipating and avoiding DFM and product function pitfalls and ensuring products generate value for the customer. Where necessary Hallam works on concept development with independent designers and Universities, often with grant support from major funding institutions such as Innovate UK, at the beginning of the customer’s product life cycle.

Prototype Production
Hallam can apply a wide range of resources internally to the manufacture of prototypes following concept finalisation, initial DFM and computer simulation phases. Hallam’s current year Solidworks Professional CAD system links via CAMWorks to new DMG MORI CNC machining centres to create machined components. Larger prototype non-ferrous components can be sand or gravity cast and machined to tolerance. Many new products have sophisticated finishing requirements and Hallam’s state-of-the-art powder coating plant and surface finishing unit is often utilised at the prototyping stage. Hallam’s sourcing network can supply any prototype components not available internally.

Aluminium Diecasting and CNC Machining
Hallam’s internal manufacturing capability includes high pressure, sand and gravity aluminium diecasting, CNC machining, CNC powder coating, assembly to final product stage and full function, safety and quality testing. Lean techniques are applied in all areas of the manufacturing operation, helping to achieve best value for customers.

Component Sourcing
Ferrous castings, polymer or metal extrusions, injection moulded and laser cut metal parts, mechanical sub-assemblies and electrical components can all be outsourced across Hallam’s extensive network of suppliers.

Volume Assembly & Dispatch
Hallam supplies high volumes of sub-assemblies and finished products including complete and ready-to-install domestic and industrial LED-based lighting products and computer monitor arms. Hallam now supplies more than a dozen different types of complete lighting product. The monitor arms consist of more than 20 separate powder coated cast or injection moulded components, laser cut steel forms and associated cabling for immediate use in the home or office.

Industrial Coating Services
Hallam’s industrial coating plant benefits from our manufacturing expertise in many ways. For example, the special carousels and housings needed to suspend components through the plant are designed and manufactured by us. Our resources are also deployed in ensuring that the plant is maintained in excellent condition and that rigorous quality checks are applied.
